New image and expansion of services for Small Business Centre
The Small Business Centre Bunbury Wellington is now known as Business South West, which is a reflection of its new geographical scope in the region. Major government funding was recently secured from the Australian Small Business Advisory Service and the Small Business Corporation’s Business Local WA Program, which will result in free advisory services and business development workshops being available for all small to medium businesses throughout the South West region.
The centre provides assistance for new businesses and support to improve the success of existing businesses. Located in the Chamber of Commerce building on Stirling St in Bunbury, the Centre provides free, confidential, and practical assistance on a wide range of business related issues.
Chair of the newly re-named Business South West organisation, Beth Ferguson said winning the funding was a real acknowledgement of the value that the centre provides to the business community in the South West.
“We are very excited to announce that we can now strategically deliver services to the whole South West region and our role will be to provide a centralised support network for the business community in the South West region.
“Over the next few months we will be focussing on raising the profile of the centre throughout the region and delivering a series of workshops for clients to attend to increase their skills in business in a range of areas,” she said.
Significant sponsorship is also provided to the centre every year by Local Government and a number of private sponsors, which provides support for the delivery of business workshops and the prestigious annual Small Business Awards.
