In addition to his work as a Business Development Advisor to Business South West, formally the Small Business Centre Bunbury Wellington, Craig and his wife Colette have established and run an award winning small business since 2010. Initially part-time he has been at the helm of his successful consultancy business since March 2014. He has completed a number of projects which have delivered operational and strategic plans that have assisted the improvement and sustainability of those organisations.
Prior to this Craig was employed at a senior level within the Public Sector for 18 years, with the last 15 of those within regional Western Australia. He has worked for such diverse organisations as the Disability Services Commission, Kimberley Development Commission, Department of Agriculture, Department of Education and the Pilbara Institute (TAFE). As such, Craig possesses many years of experience in developing strategic and operational plans, completing structural and functional reviews, developing effective teams, performing resource reviews and plans and completing budget analysis. He has also assisted not-for-profit organisations with governance and corporate support. Craig has delivered training to boards in governance and financial understanding. As a long term regional resident he is acutely aware of the pressures, environmental impacts, challenges and opportunities in both providing and receiving services within a regional setting.
In addition to his work, Craig is actively involved in volunteer work for the community. He has been on the board of Welcome Lottery House for over 8 years, four of those years as Chairperson. Craig was also the Chair of EPIC – Empowering People in the Community.
Craig has successfully completed a Masters of Business Administration and in 2012, completed the signature leadership program with Leadership WA and is now a fellow of the organisation. He has also recently been awarded a Cert IV in Governance (NFP).
