Marilyn has extensive experience and a background in the fields of economic development, project management, grant writing, event management, tourism and hospitality.  Marilyn will draw on her experience and network developed during her engagements with Austrade, the Australian Institute of Export, the Australian Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, governments on all levels and her involvement with a variety of not-for-profit organisations, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous.  Marilyn worked in economic development for local governments in both Victoria and Western Australia.

Marilyn has also been involved with small businesses over several years having owned and operated seven restaurants and catering facilities located in the metropolitan and regional Western Australia and in Melbourne.  Marilyn also ran a family landscaping and construction business for ten years and is experienced at running a business from home and as a mother of six children.

Since January 2014 Marilyn’s experience has specialised in working in regional economic development for the Gascoyne region where she also delivered the Business Local service for the past eighteen months.

Marilyn will be delivering the Business Local service throughout the Warren Blackwood region.

As a Project Manager, Marilyn also continues to do grant and tender writing in her own consultancy business, Flame Consulting Services and assisted Nola Marino, Member for Forrest to deliver the South West Sensations Expo in Parliament House in Canberra in 2011 and 2013.
